GO HAWKS!

Football season is upon us!! So is high school wrestling season!!

For wrestling, we only have a few more weeks before State Championships!! So proud and happy for the boys in our ward. They should all make it to state! Two of my girls saw their first wresting match the other day.. THEY LOVED IT!!  "Wow Mom, you were Wrestling manager in High School, you were so lucky"  "It looks like so much fun!"  (OH it is, and then some!!) I was very lucky to be the wrestling manager and I absolutely loved it! I loved keeping score, I loved taking pictures for coach, I loved bandaging the guys up, I hated shoving tampons up their bloody noses, but hey it worked! I even loved washing the singlets, straps and towels, and then repacking bags for the next meet! I know I was crazy. But I love, LOVE Coach! He respected that I wanted to wrestle too, but I respected that he thought it was wrong for boys and girls to wrestle each other. (I actually strongly agree! They have parts I don't want to accidently grab, and I have parts I know I didn't want to have grabbed).. Long time ago, but why does it feel like just the other day?

Anyway, tomorrow the SeaHawks play the Packers, for a spot at the Super Bowl!!  Am I excited? Not as much as I am about my kids being on the Sports Med team at the High School Wrestling Invitational today!! Nothing like a couple dislocated shoulders, broken noses, sprained wrists, broken wrist, sprained ankles, and a few scratches and mat burns.  Fun.. I missed it..

Instead, I kept myself overly busy with..... canning!!!!  I know crazy as usual. I need chicken broth, so I picked up some rotisserie chickens, boned them, canned the meat, and have the bones and skins in the crock pot so I may can the broth tomorrow. After canning the chicken, I canned up 3 quarts + (4) 1.5 pints of pinto beans, and now I have 8 pints of hamburger in the canner!

While I worked on this Hubby and DS worked on the sewing/storage room/closet. It's almost done!!  Then I will be able to hopefully get back to sewing.. if baby ever takes a long enough nap.

Right now that is all that is going on here.. Stocking up on stuff, kids eating it all, getting ready to send one to college, and hopefully another one or two also.. Trying to keep my wits about me.. they've escaped again by the way....
